In Short

First, I found that I could not find a name for my set of beliefs.

Then, one day, I found Mithras defined as le dieu de la vérité et de la bonne foi  (the god of truth and good faith) in an old French dictionary. This sounded just right to me. So I decided to call what I believe in Mithraism.

I call myself a Mithraist.
You might call this my religion.


This my worldview:

• the world has real existence (it is not just a dream),
• there are others like me.
• I can discover the world with my senses,
• some things about the world are true (and some are false),
• I can find out true things about the world (and eliminate false ones),

• all true things about the world are consistent (and that there are no contradictions).,
• nothing supernatural exists.

But I also believe in the Golden Rule
and that is my consolation.

You might call me an atheist,
but I would call myself a reasonable man.


You may find my beliefs misguided,
but I may have the same opinion about yours.


I seek to defend objective thought against subjective thought.
