Foreword
For me, Mithras is just a name, no more.Little is known for sure about the ancient religion as it was supplanted by Christianity by the forth century, and no religious texts remain.
It's remarkable resemblance to Christianity prompted the early Christian fathers to suggest that it might have been invented by the Devil in advance to subsequently discredit Christianity.
It's attributes are the Phrygian cap and the radiant sun.
You can easily find out a lot more about Mithraism by searching online.
Where it came from
Mithra (Avestan: 𐬨𐬌𐬚𐬭𐬀 Miθra, Old
Persian: 𐎷𐎰𐎼 Miça) commonly known as Mehr, is the Iranian
deity of covenant, light, oath, justice and the sun. In
addition to being the divinity of contracts, Mithra is also
a judicial figure, an all-seeing protector of Truth, and the
guardian of cattle, the harvest, and of the Waters.
